From the heart of the transcendent rock ensemble The Promise comes Dreamer, a visionary series that blurs the lines between memory, music, and reality. This is not just a story; it is an immersive sensory experience—a rock opera for the screen that charts the journey of a soul shattered by trauma and awakened by sound.

We meet Dreamer in 2009, gaunt and despairing in a palliative care ward, his body ravaged by illness and his spirit broken by a lifetime of battles with abuse, prejudice, and his own demons. But as his body fails, his mind ignites. He is guided—or perhaps haunted—by T, an enigmatic, otherworldly showman from the harmonious planet Zyx, who appears in the silence between heartbeats.

Through a symphony of surreal visions and raw flashbacks scored by the driving, ethereal music of The Promise, we are pulled into the defining moments of Dreamer’s life. From a bullied adolescent to a promising cellist ensnared by a predatory mentor, his past is a mosaic of pain and beauty, dissonance and fleeting harmony.

Dreamer is a testament to the power of art to excavate the deepest wounds and forge from them a new strength. It is a bold exploration of identity, the scars we carry, and the music that can either shatter us or piece us back together. Based on the life of Timothy Bartsch (AKA ‘T’), a young man who contracted HIV from his university professor, Dreamer follows one soul’s path through injustice, stigma, and self-discovery — told through a powerful blend of rock music, visual storytelling, and avant-garde expression.

We’re shining a spotlight on the global silence and apathy around HIV/AIDS, and the systems that have allowed this crisis to continue — unchecked and unresolved.
